In this new Baker Spotlight series, we seek to highlight some of the hidden gem bakers of the UK.
Artisanal Bakers of Britain - we salute you!
Sadly it is not possible to make each article exhaustive, and we will inevitably leave out some brilliant cakes and bakers - it's just a bit of fun! We also highlight where a baker is affiliated with My Baker.
So without further ado, let's dive in! Where better to start than Mark's home city of Liverpool?
We were blown away by this burger cake from Create a Cake Liverpool! The vibrant and distinctive layers of the burger and the incredibly realistic bowl of coleslaw make for a true work of art.
This Spongebob Squarepants bespoke cake is two tiers of fun. We love how the topper has been done in the iconic Spongebob title font, and the way the characters are placed on edible sand.

Crumbs and Cutters has such skill and precision in the execution of their cakes that we found it hard to choose one! In the end we had to go with this superhero cake as we think it proves how such a simple but vibrant design can make a cake look so unique.
This cake by The Cake Technician based in Prescot really caught our eye. The combination of edible image and fondant decoration is cleverly done and brings the whole cake to life.
